Photo of the Month - Maheno Wreck, Fraser Island Australia.
Fraser Island is a natural wonder. It's made up completely of sand, and is the largest sand island in the world, spanning 123km. While being famous for its native flora (230 species of bird), it's also 'infamous' for its prolific dingo population - said to be the the purest strain in the world. Home to over 40 freshwater lakes, it was discovered by Captain James Cook in 1770. This photo is of the S.S. Maheno wreck, on the island's 75 mile beach, which was caught in a cyclone and beached itself on Fraser in 1935. On the day I took this photograph it was very stormy, which wasn't great for photographing the beach, but was perfect for this ship wreck! Fraser Island is full of photographic subjects no matter what the weather!
